Set Description

The Jefferson Wartime Nickel Set comprised of 12 coins from three different mints from 1942-1945 were the only silver nickels made in US history.

The excellent eBay snipe of the present piece, 1945 MS68 Jefferson nickel was purchased on November 18, 2016. I had almost passed up on the coin because of the rather dark toning that came with it but upon closer inspection of the reverse I noticed doubling on the words. As a person who had never really looked for doubled dies, I look it up online for a variety of some sort and to my amazement found a variety that the coin matched 100%. I purchased the coin for $1,500.00.
