O-101A. Die crack city. This is one interesting late die state coin. Cracks everywhere. Some light handling hairlines present, but the coin is mainly original. Even the reverse has a few cracks...

R2 die state. The "a" model, fair amount of cracks. - Typical weak strike. Great luster for the grade, and the wear is very light.

Another coin with pedigree. The infamous Ed Richter once owned this one. A great example of a hard to find DM. There are a couple of marks present, but nothing too serious. The details are all there.

Picked this one up to go along with the raw one that I have. Another "Guido" as well (note the pinch near the cap and the date). Decent luster and described as original by the Bowers and Morena cataloger. Pleasing dirty silver patina and plenty of luster comes through.

Beautiful original toning with a few toned over circulation marks, Minimal wear for the grade and an excellent strike. Luster is rather subdued by heavy toning in spots. The more I study this coin and think about it, the more this coin impresses me. Probably no way to ever own a Bustie that would be more impressive than this one. In the PCGS OGL holder, would likely gain a few points today. Won at MBS 33 from Sheridan Downey.More thoughts on this coin. Having owned and studied this specimen for some time now, it has become apparent that this coin may not have even seen circulation beyond sitting in an original mint sack in a bank vault somewhere. The contact marks as well as the details of this coin have sharp edges indicating that there has not been any wear. There does appear to be a bit of rub only on the highest points, but that may be just an indication that this coin has been loved by many a collector over the past 200 or so years. You have to admit that it is exceptionally tough to find them like this. I hope this beaut endures the ions of time and passes from one loving collector to the next. Only in the end to meet its demise when the Earth is enveloped by the sun and the coin is unceremoniously broken down into its basic elements and cast back into the universe as the atoms whence it came.Fletcher vs Peck: First time US Supreme court rules US state law unconstitutional. Case was about property rights.

This is what I am talking about. Great strike. Wear is minimal, as is the luster for the grade. Nice original toning. This coin has most of its dentilation, which is tough to find on this die pairing. The die cracks described in Overton are not present on this coin so I suspect that this is a very early die state.

Dove gray coin with pleasing original surfaces. Lots of dirt left and appropriate luster for an AU 50.
