The design of this coin is not the best of the 50th anniversary commemorative coins, but I like that it features the Saturn V rocket, which was built and designed in my home state of Alabama! I had a very difficult time finding this coin at a reasonable price, but I eventually found it from a seller in Greece. It had a relatively high mintage of 25,000, but not many end up on the market.

Australia played a fundamental role in broadcasting the Apollo 11 mission and it remains a key player for NASA today in maintaining contact with our various probes and satellites. I have mixed feelings about plating coins, but you can't deny that it looks amazing! There were 10,000 of these coins minted and I was able to obtain the one with serial number 104!

The design of this coin highlights the design of the lunar lander (The Eagle) and the iconic footprint on the surface. The Perth mint is known for their quality, and this coin is a great example of that quality. 50,000 of these coins were minted, which makes this coin more readily available than most other moon landing commemorative coins.

Canadians have played a fundamental role in the Apollo missions from the beginning. A Canadian recommended that a command module should remain in orbit while a lunar lander descended to the surface. Also a Quebec company manufactured the landing struts for the lunar lander. I was able to get this coin for a very reasonable price on ebay because the packaging was damaged. I could tell the coin itself was in good condition, which shows in the grade. 5500 of these coins were minted, and this coin's serial number is 2884.

Similar to Australia, Spain was instrumental in receiving transmissions from the Apollo 11 mission, which is why this coin included a dish in the design. it was a monitoring station in Spain and a Spaniard operating that station that first received confirmation that the Eagle had landed. That 22 year old technician names Carlos Gonzalez knew about the success of the mission before president Richard Nixon. 10,000 of these coins were minted, and this coin was given serial number 7598.

Switzerland sent an aluminum solar sail with the Apollo 11 astronauts to study solar particles striking the moon. The design of this coin is based on a photograph of the solar sail being planted into the lunar surface. The sail was actually planted into the surface before the American flag. I like the minimalist design of this coin. It also has raised edge lettering and stars that are not visible in the pictures, which is unique amongst the coins in my collection. 5000 of these coins were minted, and this coin was given the serial number 4409.

The design of this coin honors Mary Golda Ross's contribution to the space program. Although this coin is not a commemorative of the Apollo 11 mission, The rocketship set that it was included in was intended to commemorate that event. 50,000 of these sets were produced.

These medals were struck from dies based on the dies used to strike the Robbins medals that were presented to the Apollo 11 astronauts. The design contains the image of the Apollo 11 mission patch as well as the launch time, landing time and site, and return time. The coin contains an alloy that has flown in space. 25,000 of these restrikes were minted in silver by the sunshine mint, and this medal was number 2,519.
