Owner Comments
Not only small denominations of commemorative issues of 1717 are usually hard to come by, but this special coin was part of the collection of Dr. Rainer Opitz, author of the numismatic catalog "Reformatio in Nummis". This particular coin is listed in his catalog under Opitz #2710. The coin was acquired by me during the "1000 Coins of Reformation and Protestantism - The Dr. Rainer Opitz Collection, part 3" Künker auction.
NGC suggested that the coin should go through conservation before being graded. After successful conservation, apart from saving the coin from being damaged, the coin was assigned MS-63 grade and looked even more beautiful than ever before.
