No mintmark.
Mintage in Goldine (2023): 3 known.
Called a “golden sample” by Osborne Mint personnel, this trial strike was one of three approval pieces fully struck prior to production for review by the customer. Once approved, one was retained by the Mint for quality control and two were given to the customer for comparison to the production run upon delivery. These samples were approved by LKNS with the stipulation that the Osborne Mint add its mintmark to the reverse; new approval samples were not required for this change prior to production. Aside from possible calibration strikes when setting up the press (which would not be full strikes), no other strikes without the mintmark are known to exist. Final production pieces in Goldine (LKNS catalog# M-23a) are lacquered by the Mint to inhibit tarnishing; the trial strikes are unlacquered.

The LKNS Membership Medal is issued to members of the Legacy Knights Numismatic Society. Founded in 2017 as an extracurricular activity of Legacy Christian Academy in Xenia, Ohio, LKNS has provided educational enhancement and social opportunities to 3rd through 6th grade LCA students and local homeschool students who enjoy the study and collection of coins, paper money, tokens, medals, and related items and materials. First-Year Members who meet certain basic membership requirements are eligible for this award. This medal would be suspended from a bicolored (navy /light blue) ribbon drape. Subsequent earnings of this award would be indicated by a gold star device affixed to the ribbon. The maximum number of Membership Medal awards per individual is four (medal plus three star devices). This version of the medal was first awarded in May 2023, replacing the 2018 version.
