Holding a spear, leaning on a Swiss shield.Encircled by the 22 stars representing the 22 cantons which made up the Confederation at the time. Mintage- 3,800,000. Information from Numista.

It appears the whole medal is original except the bottom portion which has wear. Perhaps whoever wore this medal had many people ask for a closer look, lifting it up from the bottom of the medal. Incredible detail
