Look at the detail on the eagles breast and the drape XF or AU? Also a classic over date 6/5.

One look at this coin tells the story of early coin making. The obverse has strong clash die marks as well as numerous die cracks. It is unlikely that the obverse die used to make this lasted much longer than this coin. Soft strike obverse (or a worn die) with a Killer reverse!

So She has the mumps and graffiti so nicely described as "Counter Stamped". Why not American Chop marks? I think that the "problem free" coins at some point will not be the be-all-and-end-all of collecting. In this case the coin pictured was in an auction with another that was problem free but with "About Good" grade (rubbed smooth) and sold for thousands more. I lost this coin in the Long Beach show a couple of years ago and now the price was less (because it is not a problem free coin). With only a a couple hundred of these one year coins in existence I would rather have a problem coin with fine "details" rather than a problem free coin with no "details". I could be all wrong...

Another nice coin from Evan at Aspen Park Rare Coins. Tougher date with original surfaces and still a hint of original mint luster. I had been looking for this coin for several years. To find the right coin at the right price with the right look (not bleached out, not abused with strong details) was a labor of passion
