In addition to the 1976 Declaration of Independence medal featuring Jefferson, the ARBC tasked US Mint Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro with creating the National Bicentennial Medal. The obverse depicted the Statue of Liberty with the inscription "LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS", along with dual dates 1776-1976. For the reverse, Gasparro offered his rendition of an Amercian eagle and the Great Seal with the inscription "AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL" and "WE THE PEOPLE"

These medals came in 7 different formats including: bronze, silver, and gold-plated versions in the 38mm size, a silver matte finish measuring 76mm (3 inches), and solid gold in 23mm, 34mm, & 76mm.

Minted by the US Mint under the supervision of the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission (ARBC) in 1976 this silver proof version has an ultra-cameo finish and is graded PF 69 UC which makes it a "Top Pop". It is also one of 209,885 sold in this size and medal.
