João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1728-R XF45 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM140, Gomes-138.02, LMB-194. The apparently much scarcer non-overdate variety for this year and mint, and one which we have offered only a single example of previously--a VF Details piece which brought $4,993 as part of our April 2013 sale of the RLM Collection. Needless to say an anomaly in this comparatively high, problem-free state, and one of only two presently certified by NGC.
