JNDA 01-36. Large character obverse, chrysanthemum reverse. The small silver 5 sen has been abandoned in favor of a somewhat larger, base metal coin. The final year of the design overlaps the first year of its successor.
Diameter 20.60 mm, cupronickel, weight 4.67 grams.
