Medal, 1935, Ni, FORD V8 CALIFORNIA-PACIFIC EXPO, San Diego, CA, So Called 50C, HK-UNL, NGC MS63, Cert# 3275580-057. Celebrating the Ford V8 engine in 1935. Part of the California-Pacific Exposition. 28mm, nickel. Obv. Ford with V8 design in center, San Diego 1935 at bottom; Rv. in center circle, FORD 1935, outside circle, curved bars perpendicular to edge, like a propeller, interesting design. San Diego's second and last successful attempt at holding a world's fair occurred in the middle of 1935. In the midst of a worldwide depression, held in Balboa Park and focused more on national interests than local interests, in contrast with the prior World's Fair held in San Diego.
