Worcestershire-Dudley, D&H-2, MS-63 RB. Edge: I promise to pay... One Penny. Rarity: R. Diesinker: Jacob. - This token begins a complete set of the Worcester Dudley penny tokens. All four tokens show parts of the Dudley Castle. This token is 85% red and the spot on the obverse isn't as bad as the scan shows. I got all four of these tokens when I purchased the "P. Gimby Collection" a few years back. We both were thinking that this token had a chance at being labeled as Red. The token is a faded and mellow red with just the one obverse spot and a few tiny streaks on the reverse. This token is a earlier die state than the one shown in Dalton and Hamer. The die break, upper left obv., barely shows and the rim cud is not present on the right.
