Best2u's Bio
COMICS- Well now, how did all this comic collecting begin. Let me think about that a second. Oh ya, I needed to buy my brother-in-law a birthday gift, knowing he was a Batman fan, I did a search on eBay and one of the first things that came up was a CGC comic of Det. Comics #387, the 30th Annv. issue. It was a 7.5 with OW pgs. and for $35 it seemed like the perfect gift. It was shipped out the very day it closed. When I opened the box and checked it out there was no way my bother-in-law was getting it. I was hooked and told myself I was going to get every Det. Comic from my birth date in 1954 to the present. To make a long story short I learned everything I could for about 2-3 months and started to buy. Anything Batman was out, as there were just to many issues, and I never was a Batman fan. I did a bit of research and decided on the Gold Key "Star Trek" series. I've branched out from there into the other series seen in my Sets list. Thanks to CGC for the Awards my sets have won.
COINS- Hmmm... I seem to remember sitting at the table sorting pennys' at a very young age with my mother but never really started till 1991 when I met a new friend, Gimby, who collected Comm. and Morgans. After a month or two of playing cards and talking about collecting different things in our lifetime he asked if I'd like to go to a mall coin show with him. I went and was hooked. I started out with anything and everything that my eye liked. I ended up with a mess of mid-grade common junk. After a while Gimby talk me into using my brain and not just my eye. I made the change and started buying only slabed coins or coins that I would send to be slabed. I had made the choice to collect rainbow toned Buffalos and Comm. with toning. While it's ture I don't have a lot of them the ones I do have I'm in love with and only add new ones that meet this rule- I must love them. After getting online I looked for a series I could collect that woud be perfect to use the computer for. I went with the Ireland coins as their design is great and they have low mintages. They were also cheap and could be found. Thanks and Best2u
