One of many medalettes featuring the Prince of Wales struck when it appeared he would be named Prince Regent due to one of his father’s, King George III, bouts of "madness". His father recovered before he could be named Prince Regent though he would eventually assume the title in 1811 before ascending to the throne in January 1820.
