- Bright and frosty, this coin has a big clip. A clip is caused when punches onto a planchet strip overlap, causing an oblong loss of metal on the second punched blank. The clipped blank is struck and a portion of the coin is missing. For whatever reason, I’ve seen a few 1953-D clips. This is the best silver Roosevelt clip I’ve found so far.
