Bronze, gold plated bronze, .900 fine gold and .925 fine silver National Bicentennial Medals were struck in Philadelphia mint without a mintmark to commemorate the United States Bicentennial in 1976. Only the silver and gold medals were struck in proof. Large size gold and silver medals were also produced.
