George Barker F.R.S. was an attorney practicing in Birmingham, benefactor to the City of Birmingham. He was an enthusiastic token collector. He was the son of George Hollington Barker, also a practicing attorney and coin collector. Peter Kempson created multiple tokens for father and son.
The obverse of the token has a deep red-brown color in the fields that is quite flashy.
