Struck in Copper with a reeded edge.

Obverse: Liberty Head wearing a headband mounted with a star and her hair tied back in a bun. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on scroll below.

Reverse: The denomination 25 CENTS is centered within the wreath of oak and Laurel while the date 1870 is outside and at the bottom of the wreath and the inscription STANDARD SILVER is at top.

Comment:
This series was also struck in silver, copper, and aluminum and with both reeded and plain edges. All varieties are rare. The present piece is tied for the honor of finest certified with an identically graded PCGS specimen (11/22). Both sides are ruby-red and walnut-brown with mirrored fields and boldly struck devices. No detraction are apparent.

Since 1970 the Judd 920 has only appeared in about 14 times and over half were repeat offerings
