Struck in Copper with a reeded edge.

Obverse/Reverse: Struck using the regular Liberty Seated dies of the year

Comment:
This trial strike is toned in rich emerald-brown with purple, blue and gold iridescence that comes into view when held at the right angle of light. A sharply impressed and rather striking example of a Quarter in copper.
Auction records since 1972 suggests there appears only 4 unique specimens that have been sold. The 1991 Bowers sale of the Dr. Polis collections only acknowledge 2 at that time while Pollack had only 3 references- 2 of which could be confirmed as Unique pieces
