Critique: Purchased just to get an example of a 'small head' George V sov. Most Perth mint sovs are weakly struck on the reverse, however this coin is much better than average. As of 9/2022, the pop report shows 48 of these MS63, and only 4 better in 63+ or 64. No other coin from any Australian mint in the 1920's has anywhere near this number of MS63 grades reported, so I don't believe that for a minute! I'm guessing this is a case where dealers kept breaking coins out of MS63 holders and resubmitting to try to get MS64 returned. A few were eventually successful. Meanwhile the presumed pop of MS63 ballooned upwards, and probably at least half of those holders are ghosts which no longer exist.
