Critique: This is a really beautiful coin, although a bit of a flat strike and a few scuffs on the reverse. Eventually I'll replace it with a MS65 example, but I'll be sad to see it go.
Update: Nov 2022... Just found an MS65 1930-SA for sale at a very reasonable price at DS in OZ. However, it's graded by PCGS, and so I have to think carefully about whether or not NGC will go along and cross it at MS65. So I downloaded the pic, and on close-up there's a very unusual feature which I'm worried the NGC grader may take exception to. On the reverse, there is a very bright streak running from the tip of St. George's sword to the, um, masculinity of the horse! Looks kind of like George is shooting him with a lightning bolt, and could explain why the horse is rearing up and has a wild look on his face! It almost looks like somebody added that feature as a joke, so as much as I would love to have the coin, I'm too afraid that NGC will refuse to cross it. What a shame.
