Issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Irish Easter Rising (or Rebellion) in 1916.
Obverse: bust facing right of Padraig Pearse, leader of the failed armed uprising against British rule during Easter Week, April 1916. Sixteen of the leaders of the uprising, including Padraig were executed in May 1916. Legend: êire . 1966 .
