Owner Comments:
There are 18 including this coin graded MS67 at NGC. This is a very common date and easy to get in high grades, but, it is sort of scarce at this grade. There are only 2 graded higher at NGC, one MS67+ and one MS68. At PCGS there are 27 in MS67 and one in MS67+, none higher. So there are 3 graded higher at NGC and PCGS. The only other silver coins you get in MS67 more easily from 1916 than this coin are the Russian 10, 15, 20 kopeks or 25 or 50 Pennia coins of Finland. There is a 10 Sen silver coin also from 2016 which is probably even easier to get in high grades than this coin.
Under Emperor Yoshihito with the second-highest mintage (8,736,768) of the five-year series.
A thick heavy coin that is still noticeably lighter than a US half dollar in actual silver content by almost 30%.
