Czar Nicholas II. Petrograd (St. Petersburg) Mint. 131,670,000 minted. Last full year of the Czar and 300+ years of Romanov rule. This is the year, on advice from Rasputin and the Tsarina, Nicholas ordered the temporary dissolution of the Duma (Russian Parliament). The Prime Minister at the end of 1916, Alexander Trepov, tried to bribe Rasputin with 200,000 rubles to leave politics forever and return to Sibera. He didn't. 200,000 rubles would have been one million of these coins. There's 0.0579 troy ounce of actual silver in each of these coins, so at January 1, 2021 melt value, that $1.53 million.
None graded higher than MS66+ at PCGS, and 46 graded this high, including this one, at NGC, with 11 graded higher (67+ and 68).
