Owner Comments:

Extremely rare, particularly undamaged, as usually is holed. Also, only one in the NGC (at the time of the purchase, January 2020) with full numerical grade, therefore Top Pop. There is also an NGC XFD hairliness. PCGS has an XF45.

From the sale's catalogue: "MEXICO. Chiapas. Augustin I Iturbide Silver Proclamation Medal, 1822. NGC MS-62.
Grove-23a; Fonrobert-6925. Bust left, legend around; Reverse: Crowned imperial eagle within crowned central medallion, legend around. A seldom-seen medal, gray toned with well detailed bust and just one area of strike weakness by the date. A lustrous example far nicer than normally encountered with a thin veneer of tone."
