While this coin is only graded VF-Details it is still a decent coin which has some environmental damage. An early large cent struck only 6 years after the end of the War of 1812 which ended in1815.This war saw the burning of the White House and a long road to recovery for the United States.James Monroe was our nation’s 5th President when this coin was minted and Daniel D. Tompkins became the 6th Vice President of the United States.Missouri became the 24th State to enter the Union and was admitted as a Slave State on August 10,1821.The admittance of Missouri as a Slave State would come to be known as the Missouri Compromise because Maine would be admitted as a Free State.
