A very nice high grade early Capped Bust Half Dollar in Details condition.I still have difficulty in seeing the scratches referred to on the label.This coin was minted in Philadelphia during The War of 1812 and just a year before Francis Scott key wrote our National Anthem.The words for our Anthem were written by Key while he was aboard a British War Ship watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry. The words were later put to song and officially become our National Anthem in 1931.
