PCGS has graded 28 finer, with 33 others in MS66, with 6 in MS66+, and 19 in MS67 with 2 in MS67+, and 1 in MS68
NGC has graded ... none at all in any grade? I found the NGC entry for "EAST AFRICA CENT" with entries for 1912, 13, 14, 17, but no 1915 or 1916, not even in details grades. Now that this is NGC graded, it still says the population is "not available" when the certification number is verified.
Maybe these were all found in a batch and sent together to PCGS, and that's it. I don't know. I also don't know how many people would be collecting East Africa protectorate coins if not as part of some other collection (1916 in my case).
Considering that there was also a German East Africa, I should learn about if there was any fighting between the German and British colonials. Roald Dahl writes in a short story about a little interaction with Germans in Africa. He served in the second world war though, not the first. Speaking of 1916, Roald Dahl was born September 13, 1916.
