Owner Comments:
Amazing little coin. As minted! Nice patina! Top Pop at both NGC and PCGS! At the time of purchase (April 2018) NGC has certified 3 coins: 1@40, 1@53, and 1@61; PCGS has certified only one at 63 (i.e. this one).
From the sale's catalogue: "Ferdinand VII gold 1/2 Escudo 1818 Mo-JJ MS63 PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM112, Cal-365. The single highest certified example by either NGC or PCGS, this razor-sharp little beauty exhibits substantial luster across the entire planchet, the reverse flooded with a brooding red patina to the peripheries. A delightful offering for the collector of the Mexican series."
