JNDA 01-12. Minted from M8 (1875)- M10 (1877). The trade dollar was minted to the standard of 420 grains (as indicated on the coin itself) vs. the 416 grains in the 1 yen coin. The reverse characters translate to 'trade silver'. This coin has not yet been graded, and would receive a details grade given the cleaning. In hand the cleaning is less obvious, but is clearly present.
Diameter 38.58 mm, 0.900 fine silver, weight 27.22 grams.
