- Coin is a one year issue. Sovereigns were struck in India as a wartime measure since the gold blanks were supplied by Bombay and other Indian mints as a extension of the Royal Mint (ie. The fifth branch). These coins were struck from August 1918 through April 1919, at which time the branch mint was closed.
