Davenport 614, Taler, 1871. (Vereinsthaler). One year issue with new engraver.
LUDWIG II KOENIG V. BAYERN, new head to the right. Different head design by J. Ries.
Rev: EIN VEREINSTHALER * XXX EIN PFUND FEIN, crowned and supported arms. New lions and arabesques under arms. 1871 below.
Under head J. RIES - the first Bavarian coin not designed by Carl Voight in about 50 years.
