This 15.70 grams, .999 Ag, 36.60mm, 50 cents Australian Koala coin had a final mint to order total of just 84,184 and has a low NGC population of 298. This year’s reverse design depicts an adult koala resting in the fork of a eucalyptus tree. It is the work of Perth Mint artist Tom Vaughan. Inscriptions surrounding the marsupial include "AUSTRALIAN KOALA," "2013 1/10 OZ 999 SILVER" and the Perth Mint’s "P" mintmark. Obverses offer the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions are "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and the legal tender face value of "10 CENTS." These silver coins are issued as legal tender of Australia under the Australian Currency Act of 1965. As such, their weight and purity are guaranteed by the government of Australia.
