This Switzerland Basel Federal Free Shoot Medal has been engraved by Medal Artist Antoine Bovy. The obverse has a fallen hero at St. Jacob an der Birs. The reverse has a patriotic poem with nine symbols surrounding it. Der/ schild zerbrochen/ das schwert entzwei/ das banner/ in sterbender hand/ triunph das vaterland/ bleibt frei/ gott segne das/ vaterland Translation: "That sign broken the sword divide that banners in dying hand triunph the native country remains freely God blesses the native country”.
