Owner Comments:

CYPRUS, KING EDWARD VII 1/4 PIASTRE 1908.

The last 1/4 piastre for the reign of Edward VII was issued in 1908 in small quantities (36,000). The next issue of 1/4 piastre was for the reign of George V, fourteen years later, in 1922. For this reason 1908 1/4 piastres suffered considerable wear. Additionally most of them were lost during the 1st world war. Today the 1908 1/4 piastre is considered to be the most expensive and hard to find 1/4 piastre.
