CYPRUS, KING GEORGE V 1/4 PIASTRE 1922.

The first 1/4 piastre for the reign of George V was issued in 1922, fourteen years after the previous issue in 1908 for the reign of Edward VII.

OBVERSE: Crowned bust of King George V facing left.
REVERSE: 1/4 within a beaded circle.
ENGRAVER: Obverse: Edwar Bertram MacKennal. Reverse: Leonard Charles Wyon.
DIAMETER: 21 mm
WEIGHT: 2.91 g
EDGE: Plain.
METAL COMPOSITION: Copper 95%, Tin 4%, Zinc 1%.
MINTAGE: 72,000
RARITY: Can be found in all grades, but with much difficulty in high grades.

1922 1/4 PIASTRE MS 64 RD

Beautiful and attractive with superb detailed strike and full original red glowing luster.
NGC pop shows only one coin in MS64RD with a mere one finer.
