View Coin Indian Head Cent United States 1C 1879 NGC MS 64 RB A MS64RB well struck nicely toned 1879-P Indian Head Cent. This scan does not show the subtle shades of color and toning on this coin. Coin has good strike and good color for an RB IHC. Coin was purchased in auction in 2010.
View Coin Seated Liberty Dime United States 10C 1879 PCGS MS 64 White background with deep golden edge toned coin. Well struck, proof-like-MS64, PCGS Seated Dime with excellent strike and full proof like contrast. This is a nice coin with fully prooflike fields and devices with pretty integral rose and gold toning. I would consider this coin to be a "liner" MS65. A couple of small marks keep this coin from being there. I have owned several graded MS65 SL dimes from this era which are lesser examples than his coin in surface quality.

PCGS has graded 130 coins higher than MS64 for this date and MM. This is from an original issue of only 15,100 coins with original luster patina. Despite very low mintage for this dime, examples are available in larger auctions occasionally. This coin was purchased at the 2010 Baltimore ANA Auction, on 11/4/2010.
View Coin Morgan Dollar United States $1 1879 O PCGS MS 63 Mostly white, well stuck for issue. Nice coin that looks like MS64+. Coi was purchased from Bozarth Numismatics on July 12, 2010.
View Coin Gold Quarter Eagle. United States $2.5 1879 S PCGS AU 55 The year 1879 was the last year for issue of "S" mint quarter eagles. All mintage of quarter eagles and half eagles was reduced after 1879. Most quarter eagle dates with an "S" mint are very scarce in AU and up grades. This 1879-S issue is very scarce few mint state survivors of 43,500 mintage and is tough to find in MS grades. This one also is somewhat prooflike which I understand is common with low mintage "S" quarter eagles of this period. There have been 18, 1879-S quarter eagles graded as AU55 with 24 coins graded higher by PCGS as of 2005. Only (5) more coins have been added since. This coin was purchased at DLRC auction in 2002.
View Coin Gold Half Eagle United States $5 1879 S NGC AU 58 Well struck nicely toned original skinned, 1879-S half eagle. Not a rare coin until MS62 but a nice coin none the less. Coin is proof like on both sides under the luster breaks which are typical for this grade. Many gold and silver coins from the 1879-s dies have PL luster. This coin was purchased as a raw common date half eagle in 2010 and was slabbed. It is a slightly better date.
