After 35 years, this classic and popular coin was updated with an enhanced obverse design and brand new reverse.
Thanks to modern design technology, the updated obverse is a closer reflection of Weinman’s original vision and
includes the addition of his traditional artist mark. Enhanced security features include an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation
OBVERSE DESIGN: The obverse features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. To accomplish this The United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to render a closer reflection of Weinman's original vision and includes the addition of his traditional artist mark. Inscriptions are "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2021."
REVERSE DESIGN: The reverse of the re-designed Silver American Eagle depicts an eagle, with wings spread, coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER."
