The only all silver $2 polar bear coin issued. Titled, "Proud Polar Bear" this wonderful coin seems to be more aptly struck in silver for the polar bear coloration than the normal gold or gold gilt which is used in the series.

Attractive coin with a highly detailed rendering of the Bay Bridge and activity on the water below- with the shores of Oakland and San Francisco. The bear rendering is somewhat plain without much detail of musculature or texture of the fur.

An interesting piece- although I don't usually collect colorized, hologrammed or coins with inserts--since this "Bear Coin" collection is ultimately for my granddaughter Jade, then how perfect to find a coin with bears but also a bear shaped jade insert..pretty cool. |
