Owner's Description
Five dollar Continental bills have an image of a hand gathering food from thorns face with the Latin Motto, "Sustine Vel Abstine" which translates as, "Either Survive to Give Up".
PMG has graded about thirty five January 14, 1779, CC-91 bills with 50% receiving a grade of AU or better and 10% receiving an uncirculated grade. This example is the finest graded by PMG. The January 14, 1779 $5 are the 60th rarest of the 102 bills in the series.
