Uncanny X-Men #1, finally after saving all of my money I was finally able to save up for the first X-Men ever... Wait this is Volume 2... Oh, Well that's cool right.
Anyways in all seriousness this was an amazing pick-up from Comics to Astonish here. Originally I just kind of passed over them a few times but after seeing the reviews from Tnerb and others I figured why not take a look at there site.
Open up the webpage and right there on the front page was this baby. Signed by Cover Artist Frank Cho I was really happy with acquiring this one and for one heck of a reasonable price.
Anyways this is the beginning of the New Uncanny X-Men which saddly ended just a few issues later once Cyclops is finally seen as a beer short of a six pack.

This one wasn’t too bad. But for the flagship X-Men title I guess I was wanting more. The cover to me is awesome and left me believing that somehow the X-Men were about to do battle with a Celestial. I figured Cyclops was about to get crushed by a thumb….Nope. I did pick this one up on eBay for a very reasonable price and do hopes to one day get Cover Artist Carlos Pacheco to sign it along the thumb.

This one is actually a little rare compared to most Moderns now a days. There are a total of 12 graded with 10 graded as 9.8 including this one and 2 in 9.6. It is comforting that it is the highest grade but I would like it to stand out so CGC SS here we go. In that category there is a grand total of 0 which would certainly set this apart from the pack.
Story Title: Everything is Sinister! Part 3.
SUMMARY:
The battle between the Extinction Team and the army of Sinisters continues. Hope uses her telepathy to protect Cyclops’s squad from Sinister’s psychic powers. Suddenly, Sinister drags hope into the astral realm. There, Sinister tells Hope about the conflict between nature and nuture, and says that her nature is also the missing piece of her nature. That missing piece is only one word: “Phoenix.” Angry, Hope teleports to Sinister’s palace and shoots the Sinister in the throne. However, Sinister transfers his mind to another body and his army subdues the Extinction Team.
Suddenly, Danger manifests the Danger Room inside Sinister’s palace and destroys all the Sinister inside, saving the Extinction Team. They leave the palace, only to find more Sinisters. Emma tells Namor to hold her arm, to which Namor believes to be a sign of affection, but Emma replies that it is just to keep pressure on her wound. Then, Emma uses her telepathy to channel the power of the Dreaming Celestial’s head, dissipating the Sinisters.
Suddenly, the original Sinister appears before them. Emma tries to use her telepathy on him again, but Sinister proves to be immune to her powers, having used his connection to Cyclops’s brain and the army of Sinisters to gather data about the X-Men and their powers. Then, Sinister steals the Palace of Fine Arts, saying that even without the Celestial’s head, it serves as a headquarters. Telling the X-Men they will meet each other again, Sinister grabs his gun and shoots himself in the head.
With Sinister gone, the Celestial’s head returns to the body, and Magneto breaks his connection to the Celestial. Magik teleports the X-Men to Magneto’s position and witness as the Celestials arrive at San Francisco. The X-Men walk towards the Celestials and Cyclops says that Earth is under the X-Men’s protection. He also says that since the Dreaming Celestial is on Earth, he is under the X-Men’s protection too, and if he is in danger, they will save him again. Hope, shining with a soft fire aura, says that what Cyclops is trying to say is that the Celestials should leave.
Suddenly, the Dreaming Celestial lifts his arm and points towards the sky, and the Celestials leave Earth.
The X-Men realize that the people of San Franciso witnessed everything that happened. Noting that they are petrified of the X-Men, Cyclops says that as long as the X-Men exist, they will not dare to touch a mutant. Emma asks if that means that their ascension into Earth’s premiere superteam is inevitable, and Cyclops replies that if it was inevitable, they wouldn’t have to work so hard.
PERSONAL COMMENTS:
Had a couple lines and action scenes in this one that were preety cool looking. First one was the scene Sinister is monologuing with Hope and when asked what does she think after this huge speech she shoots him just to make him quiet.
Second favorite line, Danger walks in and just goes bad assed on Sinister. Her comment "welcome to the Danger Room" was awesome for this specific point in time.

This one could have gone on a little longer. I honestly enjoyed the Phalanx story line in the 90’s as well as some of the most recent Cosmic story line. The whole hive mind thing was interesting and I would have liked it if they would have shown his madness a little more at the fact that Sinister took that from him. It just looked like a pointless issue to kill off a town of humans and then walk away while the dead metallic cells laid everywhere.

There are a total of 15 graded with all 15 graded as 9.8. Again it is cool owning the highest grade but I would like it to stand out again with this entire collection so CGC SS here we go again.
Story Title: Everything is Sinister! Part 4 Conclusion).
Summary:
A Phalanx remembers the beginning of its existence as a human who was absorbed into the Phalanx hive-mind. It was one of several Phalanx who invaded Earth. The Phalanx doesn’t know what happened to its friends, but Mr. Sinister attacked him and took him to his lair. Wanting to see how the Phalanx’s hive-mentality worked, Sinister began experiments on the Phalanx subject. Eventually, Sinister got what he wanted and left the Phalanx in a storage area. Wounded, the Phalanx tried to communicate with another Phalanx, but there was no response.
The Phalanx was left alone in Sinister’s lab, until several years later, Sinister returned to his lair after a confrontation with the X-Men. To improve his plans, Sinister decides to dispose of everything in his lab, including the Phalanx. The Phalanx was left buried beneath the earth, until it absorbed several worms and underground creatures, regaining enough strength to manifest itself as a head on top of a hand.
Later, a girl found the Phalanx and took it to her home, believing it to be a pet. Growing fond of the girl, the Phalanx assimilated her, believing that if their minds merged, they would be true friends. However, the Phalanx realized that the assimiliation had destroyed the girl’s mind. Guilt-ridden and angry, the Phalanx absorbed the girl’s parents. The Phalanx realized what Sinister had done to it: he had removed its ability to create communion with the people he assimilated.
The Phalanx began absorbing many more humans, hoping to re-establish contact with its people so that a cure to its condition could be found. Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. tracked the Phalanx down to a small, secluded village and contacted the X-Men, who went to address the emergency.
The X-Men fight the Phalanx, who transforms itself into a tower and fires a signal to space to communicate with its strain. The Phalanx does not receive a response, and sadly realizes that it is the last of its strain. Depressed, the Phalanx allows the X-Men to destroy it. Storm, feeling sorry for the Phalanx, says that this victory is not the X-Men’s finest hour. She then asks Cyclops if they and the Phalanx could have really understood each other, and Cyclops replies that he doesn’t know, saying that he doubts they will ever know.
PERSONAL COMMENTS:
I was graciously able to get this one from fellow board member SRoszkowski for which may only be in my collection temporarily. So I'm gonna have to go out and get mine graded as well...right after I get it signed by Artist Brandon Peterson or Writer Kieron Gillen. One can only hope I guess.

This was an amazing pick-up from a fellow boardie SRoszkowski. While looking around on eBay I saw this one and immediately hit Buy Now when I saw it.
Being a huge fan of Colossus and Magik seeing them overwhelmed in this one just looked to good to be passed up on and after having tried to send my own and coming back with a grade less than desireable I realized I needed more practice on how to grade.
Anywyas in all its CGC 9.8 goodness #8 in the series. Again thanks SRoszkowski.
Also last note the back copy features one of the cover Characters amazingly done by artist Michael Dooney. Honestly couldn't be happier and figured until a Uncanny X-Men Vol. 3 Set gets made it deserves a little light right here.
