Synopsis: "American Dreamers (Part 1)"
Steve Rogers, Sharon Carter, Nick Fury and Dum Dum Dugan have come to Paris to attend the funeral of Sharon's Aunt Margaret/Peggy. But while they are reminiscing, somebody starting shooting at them. Rogers goes in pursuit and finds the would-be assailant is someone he once knew from 1944 and states that, "I think Jimmy Jankovicz has woken up...."
In a flashback to Paris, 1944, the assailant (Codename: Bravo), Dum Dum, Peggy, Fury and Rogers are secretly discussing sighting of Baron Zemo hanging around a group called Hydra and developing new weapons for the Nazis to use in the war. Therefore, they decide to launch a two-pronged attack on the enemy base. And their ace-in-the-hole is Jimmy Jankovicz/Jimmy Jupiter.
In the present, at a top secret government facility in Viginia, Fury is talking with a doctor that Jimmy just recently woke up from a coma and is currently catatonic. They all then discuss why Bravo has comeback.
In 1944, Bravo and Peggy are kissing but the latter breaks it off. Bravo figures that she's still fallen for Rogers because he's a supersoldier and spots the two kissing on the ground.
In the present, as they leaving the facility, before Fury can fully explain about Bravo, they are attacked by what appears to be a hit squad wearing modified Hydra suits. Luckily, Rogers had the shield on his back, which protected him, before he starts throwing the shield and knocking out all the assailants. He then tackles Sharon out of the way before a car runs her over. And in the back of the car is Jimmy. Fury then realizes that this was all a set-up, to allow the enemy to locate Jimmy. Sharon asks Rogers why Bravo would be working with Hydra and if something really went wrong on their mission.
Elsewhere, Bravo calls his men to take Jimmy to a safe house. He then walks in a house to talk with Baron Zemo to plot revenge against Captain America.

Synopsis: "American Dreamers Part 2"
In what appears to be a dream, Captain America is crossing a snowy wasteland before a bi-rotor copter hovers over him.
In reality, Nick Fury, Dum Dum Dugan and Cap explain to Sharon Carter about Jimmy Jupiter. He was a boy who could enter the Land of Nowhere, another universe where he could shape anything with his imagination to bring back into the real world. He was found out when he brought a two-headed cat to school and selected to help the Allies infiltrate a Hydra base. Their advantage was that in Nowhere, Jimmy could hone in on other people's dreams, such as a few Hydra agents so that his Nowhere portals could allow Codename: Bravo to them. While Cap, Peggy Carter and Bucky were assaulting the front of the Baron Zemo's fortress, Jimmy was to bring Dugan and Bravo in throw Nowhere. However, a Hydra mole in the French Resistance smashed Jimmy on the head, sending him into a coma and sealing the portal with Bravo, his team inside and the Hydra agents inside it for decades. Since time passes differently, the people trapped in Nowhere haven't aged.
As of present, intelligence has tracked Bravo and his team to an A.I.M. base they've ransacked and they've spotted the heroes' plane. Cap leaps out and lands hard on the ground, going in solo through the base before the other ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents join him. Cap smashes his way in and knocks out a Hydra goon named Brently, but is unable to stop the Hydra Queen step through a portal he was guarding. Cap and Fury realize that their quarry must have access to teleport technology from Nowhere that's beyond A.I.M.'s capabilities. Even more strangely, as everyone notes, most of the Hydra goons wear the regular uniform, implying that some deal was being made.
As night falls, Cap can't seem to go to sleep. Sharon reassures him that Fury promised to call them if anything came up. Cap tells her that its, bugging him that Bravo has access to high technologies but strangely wants Jimmy. Reluctantly, he agrees to go to sleep.
Suddenly, Sharon experiences a lucid dream, in which Bravo is influencing it, made the dreamscape apocalyptic, up until he kisses her. Sharon breaks it off, guessing that all this can't be her dream. Remarking that she doesn't just look like her aunt, Bravo promises to see her soon.
Just as Sharon wakes up and Cap is dressed up, a large handed grabs the latter through the window. The owner is in fact Ameridroid, who accuses Cap of stealing his dream.

Synopsis: "American Dreamers (Part 3)"
Codename: Bravo and Grace, the Hydra Queen are observing the elderly and catatonic Jimmy Jupiter, hooked up to machines. It is revealed that they picked his brain to control Sharon Carter's dream. They then talk about improving the modern day Hydra.
Meanwhile, Captain America is grabbed by Ameridroid, who accuses him of stealing his dream. Despite his size, Cap is able to outmaneuver his opponent, while avoiding the collateral damage he produces. Sharon tries throwing his shield to him, only for it to wedge into the side of a building. As she gets into her Agent 13 suit, she calls Nicky Fury and Dum Dum Dugan, who are in the middle of interrogating their Hydra prisoner. But before she could call the Avengers, Baron Zemo ambushes her. They both take each other by surprise, as Zemo demonstrates his improved nanotech fiber-laced costume and Sharon's shock-proof suit. Back with Cap's fight, he recovers his shield and delivers a hard blow to Ameridroid, taking off his face and shutting him down. At the moment, Zemo takes the opportunity to cast Sharon out the window. Cap catches her in midair.
Ameridroid is brought to Project Pegasus, where cap, Fury and Sharon speculate why Ameridroid would shut down after one blow.
Closeby, Bravo and Grace are in an ambulance with Jimmy, ready to open the portal to the Land of Nowhere. As soon as it distracts our heroes, attention, Ameridroid reactivates and grabs Cap, sending him right into the portal.
In Nowhere, Ameridroid/Lyle Dekker is back to his flesh-and-blood human body. Dekker becomes excited that Zemo held up to his promise that Nowhere would restore his youth. Unfortunately, Dekker's head is blown off by Bravo. This enrages Cap, who throws his shield, only for it to be caught in midair before being knocked out, as Bravo proclaims Nowhere to be his world.

Synopsis: "American Dreamers (Part 5)"
Sharon pleads Queen Hydra not to shoot Jimmy. Fury arrives and points his gun at Queen Hydra, who tells them to stand down. Sharon tells Fury to lower his gun and attacks Queen Hydra, saying that they need her alive. Queen Hydra fires at Sharon, who dodges the bullets. However, one of the bullets hits Jimmy, causing the Land of Nowhere to break down.
As the Land of Nowhere falls down around them, Captain America and Codename Bravo resume their fight. As Cap and Bravo fight across the city, Bravo shoots Cap with a special laser, which causes Cap to transform into his frail self, apparently deactivating the Super-Soldier serum. Bravo believes Cap is helpless, but Cap continues fighting.
In the real world, Sharon, Fury and Falcon fight Queen Hydra and her thugs. Queen Hydra escapes, but Sharon tells Falcon not to chase her. She then gets to Jimmy, begging him to save Cap. Suddenly, a portal opens aside them, returning Cap (in his strong self) and Bravo to the real world. Sharon thanks Jimmy, who then dies peacefully.
Cap, Sharon and Falcon defeat Bravo and Fury arrests him. Cap and Sharon are reunited and while Fury takes Bravo away, Bravo angrily tells Cap that America has lost his way and that he has failed.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents come to arrest the HYDRA soldiers, and Fury tells Cap that there is no sign of Queen Hydra, but he believes they will see her again.
Meanwhile, Queen Hydra tells her amassed forces that HYDRA will rise to victory. Then, she meets up with her ally, Baron Zemo, who tells her that her husband might be sent to the Raft. Queen Hydra says that Bravo will be fine and that he served his purpose. Zemo believes that maybe Bravo was right, that Steve Rogers’ weakness is his patriotism.
Later, Steve has a nightmare in which he turns into his skinny self in front of a horrified Sharon. Startled, Sharon asks Steve if he is okay, and tells Steve says he only had a bad dream. As Sharon goes back to sleep, Steve looks at his shield, thinking that he sometimes forget his a man out of time and tonight, he wonders what else did he forget.
