It all started here!
Here's the first appearance of Roderick Kingsley, the man who would become the Hobgoblin! Belladonna also shows up for the first time too.
I'm still hoping for a 9.8 one day, but this OW-WH newsstand copy will do for now. I picked this one up for next to nothing so I'm pretty happy with the results.
I always dig the "shadow" Spidey with the reversed-inks on his costume and this is a pretty cool Byrne cover overall. Tack on the custom label and this is one nice looking book!

This is a 2-parter with one of Spidey's oldest villains - the Vulture! It's actually a pretty evil version of the character! Who knew old Toomes had it in him!

What a cool Mysterio cover, and by Frank Miller! Yes, it was Mysterio last issue and not an alien invasion. Spidey sees right through the illusion and saves his date Deb Whitman in the process. Knock that fish-bowl Spidey!

I purchased this book in a stack of PPSSM's from a single-owner collection that many of are also in this set as 9+ grades, some are 9.8's. These books were likely never read. THERE IS NO WAY THERE IS ANY COLOR TOUCH ON THIS BOOK. I've has issues / questions about some GA books that have come back with CT before, but this is the biggest mis-grade I've gotten so far. The other flaws that bring it to a 9.0 I get, but not the CT.

I picked this out out to get graded for a few reasons. For one it's a first appearance, albeit a minor one, of Ollie Osnick the "kid Doc Ock." It was a super nice copy so I had complete faith that it had 9.8 all over it!
Lastly this is a better copy of a book I had as a kid and I read it to death! I thought it would be great to have a nice one slabbed, as I have always loved the cover that Ed Hannigan did such a great job on.
I figured a sharp label would really make this, but I didn't see any stain on the top left cover, I still don't! The cover is too busy, but I'll have to take their word for it. Oh well, it's still mine! ;)

One of the most poignant issues of one of my favorite Spidey stories ever.
Tonight Doc Ock is coming to kill Spidey and the woman he cares for, but he's giving him 24 hours to say goodbye to everyone he loves first. These are those hours. He bounces around to see Aunt May, his friends, even visits Uncle Ben's grave. But later on that night, his doom comes calling!
Milgrom totally delivers on this cover too. You get the tone, the point, the villain, the drama.

Story-time cover! Spidey is on the prowl, the Black Cat is back in full force, and the Punisher is on trial! After this, we see Frank next in his first limited series! However this ends his part in this title for some time and the endcap on the second Cloak & Dagger story.

Here we have another fill-in, but we haven't had one since issue #71. Bill Mantlo returns to do the story, Dave Simons is on art, and Ron Frenz & Bob Layton give us a cool cover. Dig that rip-off Pac-Man machine! There's a kidnapping afoot, and Spidey's gonna get in who's to blame! However there's more to the story than one would think. Also the Black Cat appears, but no note of it.

One of my fav Hobby covers ever, with the Black Cat in tow! This one is important, as it's the issue where Hobby uses a version of the goblin formula to up his power levels. It's right in the middle of my favorite era of reading when I was young, so to have a 9.8 of this one is something special.

Ok, as you can likely tell this is not your average issue. Get ready because the Assistant Editors are in charge!
This time Marvel fan Fred Hembeck gets the reins and tells a fun version of the Human Fly looking for revenge at the Daily Bugle against JJJ. It has a pre and post story that's framed by Milgrom but the middle is most of what you see. Dig those knees! :)
