Set Description:
Mini-Series and a bunch of whiskey sours of One-Shots! It won't be enough to diminish the telling of this cigar smoking being from an older avenue of time and space. He has his missions and sometimes from the government, kept secret to keep the supernatural on lockdown. That captivates the stirring of the underworld in knowing that to do the crime, one must do the time with HELL-BOY! Not to be out done, there is some character building and copies found in the wild or for trade in. If one was diligent enough to find them and seek them out.
Made of thicker skin than most, Hellboy is still a big softy, and he'll test his nerves out on the boulevard of broken dreams soon enough. Rumors will be in the air of the supernatural that only he can wield!
"I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time! I said the right thing, but it must have been the wrong line!" That nostalgia hits, along with some Howdy Doody time! Any could even then recall the Exorcist movies, and such were the late 90's comics, as well the early 2000's when the Hellboy first came to theaters. Such it was back then in media troves, when there was a fight for some quality finished product, and they themselves were in discussion of Faith, Hope and Love. Hellboy then comes by "ways" of an underbelly but holds firm his "rights" to do well and even after the government "seem" to have found his power. To then stay humble and or fearful of a higher power, some do not, and instead dream to harness or reign in such an authority. It is not possible from earthly powers that be, as Hellboy will be the first to tell you, as we all are each thinking, living and believing beings. To wit, it takes one to know one, and therein lay the foundations of belief and the findings of not being deceived. Winding and turning are the all-out obvious "ways" of consternation, but to the narrow choices clings the Hellboy and has made those involved take caution of themselves. Being instead wise as snakes and yet gentle as doves, and in it then recalls the seasons of change and what it brings, as it is in the compassion of something to achieve. While on those roads Hellboy has chosen the good and the right when possible and tries to not go too far. If indeed he had a repentance call, and in himself as an "entity" was still not able, when it became possible and again by choice he still makes headway to seek that out. It is the same, as "some were we!"... in which day we were found, and heard the call. A choice we all make, "a wretch like me!" ~ Amazing Grace!

1st Hellboy in his own title. Origin of Monkeyman & O'Brien in backup story by Art Adams. Mini-series galore in this set, but some nice additions to be had, and that is the name of the game! I traded Invincible Iron Man #9, a raw, to the Local Comic Shop Awesome Comics for this raw, which only cost me $2. Plus $14 because the LCS thought this was a nice-looking copy and the cost to grade, so all in at $48! That is some nice dealing, but the trade might have benefited the comic shop at the time. Glad to have the Hellboy get his official title, and as I'm not too much for horror, so to speak, the movies did a good job of bridging the gap that made heroes out of "immortals!" That in itself was probably the right time and right place kind of thing. Still, they made an impression not soon forgot. Those were more impressionable days with not a lot of distractions.
Complete with a back cover picture of the poster I got from Local Comic Shop Kieth's Comics that was a giveaway type of thing that I happen to be there at the time to receive. Showing a similar in type art to this issued mini-series. I guess you could say Hellboy during this time had a its regular contributors!
