Lee's Comics - Mid 90s. Walked into Lee's and asked if they had anything new and the guy pulls out 2 of the nicest 48s I had ever seen. I asked how much, and he said $500 each. His eyes went wide when I immediately said, "I'll take both". These were previously owned by the owner of Big Guys comics. The other 48 graded at 9.4.

FMFS - February 2001. This book is well traveled. New York to France to California. Was ultra nervous buying a high dollar book from France, but it was well worth the risk.

Comic Collector Shop - Late 80s. One of the all-time great comic stores. Thousands of books just piled high everywhere. Nothing was sorted, nothing bagged/boarded. If you wanted something, you had to dig - and there was always treasure to be found. R.I.P. Mr. Sidebottom.

JiveTurkeyMoFo - July 2003. One of the best things about the FF is that they explore other universes as well as their own.
