Owner's Description
Mintage 500,000 - Minted in Philadelphia - 2.0 g. - very small mintage, scarce in this grade. Coat of arms - Three Volcanoes which represent the three mountain ranges in the Country along with a great valley sit between two oceans with a ship on each ocean. Originally the coat of arms had 5 stars showing in the sky above the horizon which represented the 5 provinces of the Republic. This was increased to 7 stars in 1964. Surrounding all of this is a gloden frame with a ribbon accross the top with the inscription "Republica de Costa Rica". Above the coat of arms sits another ribbon with the inscription "America Central"
