Owner's Description

This 2.777 grams, .900 Ag, 20mm, German 1/2 Mark coin had a mintage of 5,117,000 and has a low NGC population of just 67. The obverse of this coin features a crowned imperial eagle with a shield on breast within wreath with the mint mark at center bottom. The reverse depicts the denomination within a wreath with the date at bottom center. This coin has a reeded edge. Some coins dated from 1918-19 were issued with a black finish to prevent hoarding.
