Owner's Description

This 25.00 grams, .900 Ag, 37mm, French 5 Francs coin had a mintage of 9,597,00 and has a low NGC population of 27. This coin was engraved by Desire-Albert Barre. The obverse of this coin features a portrait of Napoleon III facing left with the engravers name below (A Barre) and the lettering: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR. The reverse depicts a crowned and mantled arms that divides the denomination, the date a bottom and the lettering: DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE. This coin was demonetized on 02-17-2005.
