Owner's Description
his 31.10 grams, .999 Ag, 40mm Chinese Panda coin had a limited mintage of 500,000 and has a low NGC population of 2054. The obverse of this coin features a panda walking left through bamboo with weight and fineness at top, while the reverse depicts the Temple of Heaven with the date at bottom. The Giant Panda is China's most well-known animal, and it is the topic of the extremely popular China Panda bullion coin series. The first gold panda coin was released in 1982, the first silver coin in 1983, and the first 1 Troy Ounce .999 fine silver coin in 1989. Since its introduction in 1982, the Panda gold bullion coins feature a new design every year and are widely collected through out the world. ModernCoinMart and NGC have partnered on an exclusive NGC label that is only available for Chinese coins submitted to NGC for certification by MCM. This exclusive label commemorates the Great Wall of China and matches perfectly with the official bullion and commemorative coins issued by China. Because of its strong Chinese theme and representation of the most famous landmark in China, the Great Wall label is sought after by collectors in China and around the world.
