Owner's Description
This 31.1 grams, .999 Ag, 40mm, 10 yuan Chinese Panda coin is the 23rd year for the 1 oz. silver Panda B.U. series. The reverse side features a Panda cub nuzzling its parent. The charming art is the work of Rocky Zhao of the Shanghai Mint who also designed the 2014 Panda coins. A bamboo forest occupies the background. The obverse design has an outer frosted ring that contains the date and legend. This is the fourth version of the Temple of Heaven used on 10 Yuan silver Pandas. The mintage of 6 million makes it possible to find a perfect MS-70 coin without too much searching although prices are a little higher than later dates. It is part of two sets in the NGC Registry: "Silver 10Y Panda, 1983-Date, One-Per-Date" and "Silver 10Y Panda, 1989-Date, Mint State (Incl. Varieties)." This coin has a NGC population of 12,499.
